You’re the best-kept secret in your department or company – but you keep playing small.
Changes rock you more than they should. Sometimes you can’t let go of the way things used to be.
You wonder how you’ll end up in your company. Will you lose your job? Get promoted? Demoted?
You have invested time and effort in leadership training but you never walk away with what you really need.
You’ve started to notice that people around you are burning out, and you’ve been on a short fuse at times, too.
You wish you could stay positive and optimistic but the people around you can really drag you down sometimes.
You have greatness in you, and you want to realize it no matter what is going on around you.
You want to break out and create something, but something holds you back.
Instead of the old standard leadership training, this course gives you the basics attitudes, beliefs, and abilities that every leader will need walking into the future. You will know that you have what every company is looking for - the right attitude - the right stuff.
Getting ChangeFit™ is another way of saying: Stop hiding from change. EVEN THOUGH you’ve ridden the waves of changes, mergers, acquisitions, leadership and position changes, you’ve risen through the ranks. You hold multiple roles at work and at home, and do it all with ease and finesse.
You’re not sure what’s coming next and let’s face it, not completely sure you have what it takes to get there. This series will put you ahead so that no matter what, you’ll come out on top, even better than you were before. It’s entire objective is to help you own your power at a new level and become unstoppable no matter what happens with the specific skills people need during change. You’ll unleash a bigger version of you that can’t wait to come out.
The switches our culture is demanding can push us beyond changes we’ve seen before. In the 4th Industrial Revolution, think tanks and futurists tell us that more than job- or task-related skills - cognitive and emotional flexibility, optimism, hope, confidence, risk-taking, and courage are the basic attitudes and traits that prepare for the paradigm-busting changes happening now and those coming up.
Maybe you are tired of being a victim of change, of living a half-life when you know you could live a fully expressed life. Perhaps you tired of getting stuck in the same situations, and of backing off from what you know is possible for you.
Are you going to take this opportunity right now to step into the role of change master and transformational leader, so you can make the mark you have always been called to make?
When you start to apply the benefits of this course, although most people will be inspired by you, you will have detractors and naysayers ready to take you down. That is a good sign :) and you’ll learn how to handle them too!
COGNITIVE AND EMOTIONAL FLEXIBILITY is your ticket to adapting to a changing world.
What if you were the one in a meeting to come up with that creative solution … you were the leader whose team is at the top of the pack …. what if people recognized you as someone who could get people unstuck and focused on the future? This lab - your very first one - will help you do just that. It will set you up with the basic skills you’ll need to navigate the future.
Flexibility is the basis for innovation, creativity, mental health and survival in the new world in the 4th industrial revolution.
Cognitive flexibility (‘cogniflex’) is the mental ability to switch rules, you know when to drop one set of rules when they’re not needed and pick up a new set. This ability also lets you hold more than one concept at same time. That gives you the ability to combine and create.
BENEFITS OF COGNIFLEX
- Shift attention and let go
- Generate new ideas
- Not be so overwhelmed with everything’s that's going on
- Learn how to adjust to change
Wouldn’t it be great if you knew how to stay balanced and keep out of the burnout zone, if you were able to drop worry and help others do the same, if you were always able to bounce back to a higher place than you were before?
How much energy would be liberated by cutting worry, anxiety, resentment and regret down to almost zero? No matter how much you feel you’ve got these squared away, a LOT.
If you’ve trained your brain to move fast, but your emotional system is stuck in the past, or is busy forecasting the future, you won’t have the ability to move effectively. You need to collect your emotional system and keep it in the present if it's going to work for you. Agility, quick movement, clear decision-making require high emotional energy.
BENEFITS OF EMOTIFLEX
- Keep emotions on track so that they don’t waste your energy.
- Monitor and prevent burnout in your team.
- Let go, move on and help others around you do the same.
- Get rid of guilt resentment and worry that are robbing you of energy or focus.
- Make better decisions.
- Become emotionally resilient.
The stars in the workplace - the ones that win the President’s medals, and who always going the extra mile, seem to get attention, and rightly so. They’re happy, optimistic, feel fulfilled, and are adaptable and resilient.
Then there are the troubled ones who stand out by the problems they create - by their own illnesses or disruption in the workplace. They are easy to spot because they are either negative, critical, or simply stuck.
The largest group fly under the radar - not doing badly enough to get written up and not making the effort to excel. They hide out invisibly in the middle.
The greatest difference among these three groups? Their level of optimism. It’s their sense of opportunity, their hope for the future, and their ability to spread this around them that makes them stand out.
Optimism is the foundation of innovation and creativity. Optimism is the basis of hope and survival.
- Learn how to make the switch to optimism, once and for all.
- Amp yourself up and spread this to your team.
- Learn how to manage team members who drag everyone down.
Courage is defined as “the ability to do something that frightens one, or strength in the face of pain or grief.” To me, it means doing things you don’t want to do, moving into things that scare you, facing what you don’t think you can do. It means taking action on everything that you are, and everything that you’ve learned in the course so far.
Just because you’re taking a Lab on courage doesn’t mean you’re not already courageous. You are. Courage/boldness means you’ll be able to move into spaces that you think are beyond your capability. It takes the same kind of courage to face modern challenges at work and at home as it does summiting highest peaks on the planet.
- Stretch and reward
- Work outside the circle of comfort
- Expand all life areas
- Develop a master plan for yourself and your team
- Dump excuses, move out of fear toward action
- Motivate means to move
The good news is that we have discovered a mindset that will help you prepare for change ahead of time — that will help you to be more flexible, centered, positive, adaptable, courageous and resilient - so that no matter what happens, you’ll not just survive, but THRIVE.
You might have some of these skills and attitudes already! Better news is that the skills that will be new for you will be with you the rest of your life, helping you spiral upwards no matter where you are. These are the skills and mindsets that today’s corporations are looking for in new hires - so that you’ll be better positioned to rise to the top either where you are now or wherever you are a year or five years from now.
Every position in any company is a leadership position because of the ability that each person has to impact others around them. It takes just one person in a group to change the whole group. Maybe you already are that person. The skills exercises and suggestions you will learn here can and should be shared with others around you to help spread the message. I can’t wait to be part of your world for the next few days or few weeks.
“Have to admit, my company signed me up for this course otherwise I might not have signed up but I’m sooo glad I did. Just knowing the three levels where people get stuck going through change and a fix for all three levels was huge. And there are so many takeaway exercises that were easy to download and share with the group I work with that it seemed like in 'in-house' training.”Mike D., Magna Corporation
“I had never had this kind of training before - it was just as much a life-skills workout as it was a leadership training course. Some of it I skimmed over (probably shouldn’t have) but what I did was totally worth it. Now that I’m done I’m going back to complete what I missed.”Marilyn A., Bayer Corporation
Do I get a certificate of completion when I finish this course?
Yes! A certificate with number of hours completed will be sent to you and if you are enrolling through a company plan, will be sent to your company. Because of Dr. Lapp’s background, the course may qualify for Continuing Education credits - check with your CE verification resource.
Are there any guarantees? What if I get like halfway through and can’t finish or don’t have time or it’s not something I want to to? Can I get a refund and if so, how much?
So many people have taken this course with such positive results that I can almost guarantee that you will find that it more than lives up to its promises. You will receive a 100% refund of your tuition at any time for one full year after you enroll if it doesn’t work for you. Even if you have completed the course! If you have enrolled through your company, then your enrollment was part of a group offer for a flat fee regardless of how many took the course. So if you drop out, although your company will be notified, it won’t change their level of investment.
How long does this take?
There are three required modules and one optional module. You can travel through each module watching the short videos for each one in about 15-20 minutes. The course itself goes quickly. With each course are downloads and exercises that take more time, so to complete the course thoroughly, it will probably take two hours per module or eight hours total. Most complete all the modules over a period of about three weeks, on average.
